XIPOWER completes a seed funding round with Sigma Capital Plc and SE Seed Fund

The Sigma Sustainables Energies Fund (“SSEF”), a fund managed by Sigma Technology Management Limited, has led a total investment round of £400,000 in Xipower Limited. SSEF invested £300,000 as lead investor, with Scottish Enterprise investing £100,000 from the newly launched SE Seed Fund.
A SMART: Scotland winner and an acknowledged expert in the field of power and battery management, Xipower has identified the need to maximise the performance of rechargeable energy storage systems. In particular Xipower has developed patented technology that significantly improves the operational time of portable appliances and extends the working life of the energy storage device. The company is continuing to develop its range of embedded power management designs, power management system ICs and all associated IP as solutions to the problems encountered by both the manufacturers and users of energy storage systems.
This round of funding will be used to support the development of the company’s commercial activities and the further expansion of the engineering team.
